W. Dalrymple Longcase Clock

Nicely proportioned Edinburgh style oak and mahogany longcase clock C1790 /
1810. The case is constructed from nicely figured Oak with mahogany cross-
banding bordered with box wood and ebony lines. The hood is finished with
fine quality blind fretwork typical of Edinburgh clocks.
William Dalrymple is recorded as apprenticed in Edinburgh in 1781. Brechen is
found between Edinburgh and Montrose. The fully restored movement
features a deadbeat escapement and swings a large heavy bob and wood rod
pendulum.
