Top quality nicely proportioned figured mahogany longcase clock.  Standing 244cm/ 8ft tall, the case is made from finest mahogany with matching curl veneers to the front elevation.  The case is elegant throughout with classical cabinet work features at almost every opportunity.  The clock stands on a base featuring canted corners with satinwood inserts, book matched veneers, raised mouldings and ogee feet.  As you look up the trunk the door features two curl veneer panels surrounded by boxwood stringing and crossbanding. The trunk has fluted quarter pillars and turned quarter capitals.  At the top of the trunk the case has a blind fret-work frieze with a central satinwood flower.  The hood also features blind fret-work under swan neck pediments, fluted pillars and a moulded door.

Makers Kitchin and Lloyd are recorded in G H Baillie Clockmakers of the world dated between 1781- 1795. The attractive 13″ dial features an engraved and silvered centre, brass corner spandrels, a silvered chapter ring, seconds dial and phases of the moon in the arch. The fully restored rack striking movement strikes the hours on a bell and has a duration of eight days.
